La souffrance des patients en fin de vie n’est pas uniquement d’ordre physique. Elle peut être également psychologique et impliquer des aspects tels que la détresse émotionnelle, l’anxiété ou la dépression.
Le présent amendement ne retient en conséquence que les cas de souffrance physique.
